The Swedish defenseman had played in his home country from 2008-16, and last season he skipped over to Russia for a taste of the KHL, adding three goals and 20 assists in 44 games for Sochi HC. Having latched on with the Kings in May upon signing a one-year, entry-level deal, Fantenberg is an interesting roster candidate as a 25-year-old attempting to make a name for himself in the NHL, but the Kings should give him a serious look since the lefty shooter already has so much experience playing with elite talent in Sweden.
