Philadelphia Eagles - Fantasy News

The Philadelphia Eagles have embraced the underdog role all season long. No one expected them to be the best team in the NFC even when Carson Wentz was healthy, and the team written off from the point that Wentz went down with a season-ending ACL tear.

Yet here we are, days away from Super Bowl LII, and the Eagles are the same 60 minutes away from a championship as the New England Patriots.

It's only fitting that we have an underdog article for an underdog team. These are the less-heralded Eagles we think you should be targeting on Dober Play Cards on Super Bowl Sunday.

Nelson Agholor (9.84 Dober Fantasy Points Per Game)
Projected Fantasy Points vs. Patriots: 8.5

The one thing the Patriots really do well is take away a team's best option. New England is going to make sure that Jay Ajayi isn't the man who beats them, and that could be really good news for Nelson Agholor.

The Eagles do a lot of great things with Agholor, including lining him up on the outside and in the slot. Even if they can't force the ball into Agholor's hands as a receiver, Philly has proven it will hand the ball to its speediest wide out, too.

Agholor has watched his Projected Fantasy Points total drop from 11.5 on December 17 to just 8.5 at the Super Bowl. That's due to the fact that he hasn't topped 7.4 Dober Fantasy Points since Nick Foles took over under center.

Still, we have confidence that Agholor is going to be Philadelphia's second-best receiving option at the Super Bowl. Even without a touchdown, we think he posts a win on Dober Play Cards.

Torrey Smith (4.61 Dober Fantasy Points Per Game)
Projected Fantasy Points vs. Patriots: 4.5

If Nick Foles and the Eagles fall behind in Super Bowl LII, there could be plenty of receiving yards to go around. Torrey Smith has had an up-and-down season, but he seems to be trending in the right direction just in time for the biggest game of the season. He has 20.8 Dober Fantasy Points in two playoff games and should once again be a big part of this offense for the Eagles.

Still, there's a bit of a fear that Smith will be the fourth-most important weapon in Nick Foles' arsenal. Smith, though, is a burner and could cover these 40 yards needed to beat his Projected Fantasy Points total on any given play.

Trey Burton (4.55 Dober Fantasy Points Per Game)
Projected Fantasy Points vs. Patriots: 3.5

Zach Ertz is one of the best receiving tight ends in the NFL, but Trey Burton could carve out a piece of this Philadelphia offense on Super Bowl Sunday.

Burton's numbers don't jump off the page at you, but he hasn't been on the field a ton thanks to the fact that the Eagles have been leading virtually every step of the way in the postseason. If Philadelphia has to play from behind, Burton will be split out quite a bit and will probably see his share of targets.

If anything happens to Ertz during the Super Bowl, Burton will be a slam dunk to beat his Projected Fantasy Points total. Even without injury, though, we love Burton as both a red zone threat and a receiving option between the 20s.
