Raiders at Dolphins Fantasy Recap (Week 9, 2017)

Derek Carr had a bit of a sluggish start to their Sunday Night Football showdown against the Miami Dolphins, but they came through with one of their biggest days of the year for fantasy footballers in a 27-24 victory at Hard Rock Stadium.

In spite of the fact that both Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree struggled mightily, combining for just seven receptions and 98 yards, Carr destroyed his Projected Fantasy Points total by throwing for 300 yards and a touchdown. Jared Cook had his second 100-yard performance in his last three games while Marshawn Lynch found the end zone twice for the first time in three years.

To Jay Cutler's credit, he did everything he had to do for the Fins in his return from his back injury. In his best fantasy game since 2011, Cutler threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns in defeat.

Miami's backfield situation hasn't necessarily cleared itself up all that much either. With Jay Ajayi getting traded to Philadelphia earlier in the week, Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams effectively split the backfield. Drake had nine carries for 69 yards, but if you take away a 42-yard burst, both he and Williams were equally ineffective as runners.

Both men destroyed their PFP totals by having great days as receivers, though. Both caught six passes while Williams found the end zone early in the second quarter.
