After a failed run as the Texans' starting quarterback in 2016, Osweiler returned to Denver last season, appearing in six contests and completing 55.8 percent of his pass attempts for 1,088 yards and five touchdowns. After inking a one-year deal with Miami in March, he'll receive further tutelage from Gase, who previously served as Osweiler's offensive coordinator during the quarterback's first stint in Denver. If the mechanical adjustments prove helpful, Osweiler shouldn't have much trouble winning the Dolphins' backup gig over the likes of Bryce Petty and David Fales.
