Dolphins at Chargers Fantasy Recap (Week 2, 2017)

Early in the season, it's clear that the Miami Dolphins are going to be running a slightly easier version of their offense with Jay Cutler under center than they would have with Ryan Tannehill.

Miami was the last team to kick off its 2017 season after the devastation left from Hurricane Irma. The initial offering was a good one for the standings, though a 19-17 triumph did little to buoy Dober fantasy teams.

The Dolphins' offense was clearly simplified for Cutler. He threw a boatload of screens and leaned heavily on Jay Ajayi and the running game. That set both Ajayi and Jarvis Landry up for some big-time games. Landry caught an NFL season-high 13 passes for 78 yards, while Ajayi posted 28 carries for 122 yards to pace the Fins.

But the real hero was Cody Parkey. He knocked down all four of his field goal attempts, including a 54-yarder that proved to be the winner with just 1:10 left in the game.

His counterpart, Younghoe Koo, missed two field goals, including a potential game-winning 44-yarder with one second remaining on the clock.

In defeat, Philip Rivers was brilliant. He went 31 of 39 for 331 yards and a touchdown, and he put the team in a position to win it at the end. He worked with a ground game that was nowhere to be found, and he still managed to make Melvin Gordon (17.30 DFP), Keenan Allen (15.50 DFP), Hunter Henry (11.50 DFP) and Antonio Gates (8.10 DFP) fantasy relevant despite the lack of touchdown passes.
