The Dallas Cowboys' 38-14 victory on Thursday Night Football proved to both keep their slim playoff chances alive while simultaneous ending any hope the hated Washington Redskins had of playing meaningful January football.
The Dallas offense finally got back to its roots on Thursday night, pounding the rock with Alfred Morris as if he was Ezekiel Elliott. Morris had his best game by far as a Cowboy, running for 127 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.
There was plenty of leftover action for Rod Smith to beat his Projected Fantasy Points total as well as he tallied 27 yards and a touchdown.
Dallas only threw the ball 22 times against 42 rushing plays.
With all those Dallas rushing attempts, neither team really had the ball for all that many plays in this game. The Redskins were severely limited offensively on a day that Kirk Cousins played well but tossed two picks to end any chance of victory.
Ryan Grant and Josh Doctson beat their PFP totals, but there has to be a real sense of disappointment in Samaje Perine running for just 38 yards on 12 carries.
