Week 2 Fantasy: Top 5 WR Sleepers

Phillip Dorsett

Only one team surrendered more points than the Saints defense a year ago, while just two other clubs allowed six or more yards per play. That's typically the case for New Orleans and its lousy defense, and the Saints unfortunately have the unenviable task of squaring off with Tom Brady in Week 2 after he was embarrassed at home in the defending champs' Thursday night opener.

Enter newcomer Dorsett. The former Indianapolis Colt didn't put up any stats in his new team's first game, but he could be primed for a solid showing this weekend as long as Danny Amendola (concussion) remains sidelined. That seems more likely than not given Amendola's extensive injury history, so Dorsett should see plenty of snaps. With Brady expected to bounce back with one of his usual dominant performances, expect the talented third-year wideout to make an immediate contribution for New England.

Allen Hurns

One name that absolutely needs to be targeted following the developments of Week 1 is Hurns, who figures to enter a very prominent role in Jacksonville after No. 1 wide receiver Allen Robinson sustained a torn ACL that will knock him out for the duration of the campaign.

While the Jaguars look like they'll be taking on a new identity this year as a run-first ballclub, there should still be a plethora of games that require quarterback Blake Bortles to air it out often. One such contest could come this weekend when the Jags take on a superior Tennessee squad, and remember that Bortles is generally at his best when his team is losing. In fact, he had the best numbers of any quarterback last year in garbage time (defined as being down by more than one score and with less than five minutes remaining in the game). Either way, Hurns' outlook is shining quite bright the rest of the way.

Nelson Agholor

There's no doubt that Agholor has been a pretty big disappointment since entering the league two years ago as a first-round draft pick, but if his performance in the opener is any indication, this could be the season he finally breaks out.

Agholor logged six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in his 2017 debut, making the most of his eight targets from Carson Wentz. He appeared to be a primary part of the passing game, as teammate Torrey Smith—whom he rotates with on two-wideout sets—only saw three throws his way in the contest. Philadelphia draws a road matchup in Kansas City next, which certainly doesn't look easy on paper, but with Eric Berry being lost for the season, the Eagles may look to capitalize through the air.

Corey Davis

Considering he was drafted No. 5 overall in this past April's draft, expectations were already high for the Western Michigan product, but considering he missed just about all of camp, Davis is still somewhat flying under the radar, making him an enticing option in weekly leagues where he could provide terrific value.

That's because Davis surprisingly led the Titans in targets in the opener, drawing 10 throws from Marcus Mariota, which he turned into six catches for 69 yards—a respectable stat line from the rookie in his professional debut. Due to his large size, the 22-year-old makes for an excellent weapon in the red zone, and that should really come in handy for a club that led the league last year in red zone scoring percentage (72 percent). Tennessee has averaged 34 points per game in their last three meetings with the Jags, which could enable another nice effort from Davis on Sunday.

Kendall Wright

Yes, the former Tennessee Titan was featured in this very column last week, and he didn't do much in his Bears debut, reeling in just three catches on four targets for only 34 yards. However, a long-term injury to teammate Kevin White this past weekend could open up the door for much bigger production in the weeks ahead.

Chicago's new quarterback, Mike Glennon, threw the ball 40 times in Week 1 compared to just 19 rushes collectively for the club, and that may be how the Bears roll in most games. After all, despite almost pulling off the upset versus the Falcons, they'll be on the road in their next affair, with a matchup on tap in Tampa Bay. Thus, expect them to trail for most of the way. In turn, that should create another high-volume passing game for Glennon, and the biggest beneficiary could end up being Wright with White and Cameron Meredith not involved.
