
Wheaton was held out of practice Wednesday before returning in limited fashion Thursday and Friday, but it doesn't appear that he's progressed quickly enough from the broken finger to give it a go for the season opener. Assuming that Wheaton is in fact sidelined for Week 1, a Bears passing attack that's already lacking in high-end targets will be forced to lean more heavily on the likes of Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Deonte Thompson and tight ends Zach Miller and Dion Sims.
