The Buffalo Bills knew they had to sweep the two games in Weeks 15 and 17 against the Miami Dolphins to have a good chance of getting into the AFC playoffs.
Mission No. 1 is complete.
The Bills disposed of the Fins 24-16 in a game that wouldn't have been nearly that close if not for 10 unanswered fourth-quarter points by Miami.
As has been the case in so many of Buffalo's triumphs this year, LeSean McCoy was at the center of it all. McCoy, one week after being asked to touch the ball on more than half of the Bills' plays in a blizzard, came back and touched the ball 24 more times, amassing 96 yards and a touchdown as both a runner and a receiver.
Tyrod Taylor also had a solid game to beat his Projected Fantasy Points total. He threw for 224 yards and a score and ran in a touchdown to boot.
Jay Cutler threw for 274 yards for the Dolphins, but he was also intercepted three times. Matters could have been worse for Miami had any of Cutler's four fumbles been recovered by the Bills.
Kenyan Drake continued his hot spell since the Jay Ajayi trade, rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown. That marks three straight games in which Drake beat his PFP total.
