Week 10 of the NFL season kicks off Thursday Night with the Seattle Seahawks traveling to the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals. These teams come into the game trailing the Rams for the lead in the division, and the loser will be at a significant disadvantage in the playoff race.
The Seahawks began the season 1-2, then bounced back with four straight victories to improve their record to 5-2. Many thought they were hitting their stride, but they lost at home in Week 9 to a Redskins team missing most of its offensive line.
The Cardinals have played some of the most inconsistent football of any team this season. When they’ve been good, their running game and defense have been effective and they’ve received just enough out of their quarterback to win. When they’ve been bad, it all falls apart, much like it did in their 33-0 loss to the Rams in Week 7.
Seattle Seahawks Week 10 Projected Fantasy Points
Russell Wilson: 18.5 PFP
Doug Baldwin: 12.5 PFP
Jimmy Graham: 10.5 PFP
Paul Richardson: 10.5 PFP
Tyler Lockett: 8.0 PFP
Blair Walsh: 7.0 PFP
J.D. McKissic: 7.0 PFP
Eddie Lacy: 5.5 PFP
Arizona Cardinals Week 10 Projected Fantasy Points
Larry Fitzgerald: 12.0 PFP
Adrian Peterson: 10.0 PFP
Drew Stanton: 9.0 PFP
John Brown: 7.0 PFP
J.J. Nelson: 7.0 PFP
Phil Dawson: 6.5 PFP
Andre Ellington: 6.0 PFP
Jaron Brown: 6.0 PFP
Start 'Em: Jimmy Graham (10.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 9.16
After a slow start to the season, Jimmy Graham has come on strong over the last few games. In his last six contests, Graham has caught four or more passes five times, scored four touchdowns and averaged 11.7 DFP per game.
Graham has settled into a comfortable role in the Seattle offense as a big body and reliable pair of hands that Russell Wilson looks for on scramble drills and close to the end zone. The Cardinals defense only has 18 sacks this season, and with Duane Brown in the fold, Graham shouldn’t be needed as much for his blocking, giving him the freedom to run more pass routes. We like his chances to score a touchdown in Week 10 to get over his Projected Fantasy Points.
Sit 'Em: Tyler Lockett (9.0 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 6.86
Tyler Lockett hasn’t been a very big part of the Seattle offense so far in 2017, ranking third or fourth on the team in targets most weeks. In eight games this season, Lockett has eclipsed four receptions and 60 yards in only three games. In addition, he has yet to score a touchdown after scoring only two in fifteen games last season.
Graham, Doug Baldwin and Paul Richardson have all been more consistent fantasy bets this season, and in a positive game script, Seattle will look to keep the ball on the ground to protect Wilson as much as possible. We don’t imagine he’ll go off against Arizona this week.
Start 'Em: Adrian Peterson (10.0 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 8.06
Adrian Peterson has seen his career revitalized in Arizona after a sluggish start to the season. In the three games since the trade with New Orleans, Peterson has averaged 25 touches, 111 yards and 15.6 DFP per game.
Without Carson Palmer, Arizona wants to keep the ball on the ground as much as possible. While the Seahawks defense is respected as one of the best in football, they’ve given up an average of more than 100 rushing yards per game and seven touchdowns to running backs. It’s hard to feel good about any Cardinals on a short week against a top defense, but Peterson has the best chance to exceed is PFP.
Sit 'Em: Larry Fitzgerald (12.0 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 12.43
A surefire Hall of Famer, Fitzgerald still has some of the best hands in the game. Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated to a ton of fantasy success in 2017.
Fitz has three games with more than 12.0 DFP, and he has just 99 yards in the two games since Palmer went down. Seattle knows Fitz and this Cardinals offense as well as any team in the league. They know he’s the best receiver Arizona has and will make a concerted effort to deny him the ball. Fade him in this tough matchup against the “Legion of Boom.”
