Barea has been sidelined since late January with a calf injury, missing the last 20 games for the Mavericks. He was able to put in extensive work earlier this week and he hasn't dealt with any significant residual soreness despite the increase in activity, so Barea fully expects to take the court come Friday's tilt with the Nets. Yogi Ferrell has cemented a spot as the Mavericks' starting point guard after Deron Williams was let go, so Barea should jump in as his backup. Considering the lengthy absence, Barea will likely need a few games to get his legs back under him, so there's a good chance he sees his minutes limited over the next couple of contests.
