The Diamondbacks' catcher situation has been murky for much of the year, though Murphy had seemed to be the primary option, starting five of seven games. Since that time, he's sat for three straight, first for Alex Avila and now twice in a row for Jeff Mathis. Expect the situation to remain muddled for some time.
