Part of the mass exodus from South Beach, Christian Yelich will play his first season for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018. Heading into the new campaign at 26 years of age, Yelich is a career .800 OPS hitter with a 120 OPS+. He has emerging power, great contact skills and a strong OBP to go along with strong defensive prowess. He’s also an occasional stolen base threat. Given the depth of what Yelich can do at the plate, he’s a reliable Dober Fantasy Points producer in the outfield.
2017: The 2017 season started off slow for Yelich. His highest OPS during the first three months of the season was .746. He hit seven home runs through June and was struggling. He turned his season around in the second half, though, when he hit .390 in both July and August and slammed 11 home runs in the final three months of the year. He ended with a 3.9 rWAR and a slash line of .282/.369/.439. He had a career high in runs with 100 despite the slow start and finished with 18 homers and 81 RBIs. His 7.78 Dober Fantasy Points per game average was below what he’s capable of producing, but it was still a solid output.
