Coors Field or not, Nolan Arenado is a beast at the plate and in the field. Commonly accepted as the game’s best defensive third baseman, Arenado is a human vacuum at the hot corner. As a hitter, following his mediocre rookie season in 2013, the Colorado Rockie has been one of the more reliable bats to go along with his defense. He’s pounded 120 home runs over the last three seasons and is a career .290 hitter with 393 RBIs since 2015. The homers and RBIs alone make him a great Dober Fantasy Points producer.
2017: A .309/.373/.586 slash line led to Arenado’s career-best .959 OPS, but those numbers hardly stand out in a career of standout numbers. No matter how you interpret the Coors effect, Arenado is a reliable superstar. His 2017 numbers offered 87 extra-base hits, topping 80 for the third straight campaign. Along with providing excellent power, Arenado topped .300 for the first time, showing his outstanding bat-to-ball skills in addition to his pop. As has become expected over the last few years, Arenado — again — checked all the boxes in 2017. He slammed 37 homers and drove in 130 runs. He added 43 doubles and 100 runs scored. He hit .309 and produced a career-high 132 OPS+.
