The most overrated player in baseball until his 2015 MVP season, Bryce Harper is still just 25 years old and will be a free agent following the 2018 campaign. After some struggles in 2016 held his average to .243 and his OPS to .814, Harper returned to his MVP form through 111 games with the Washington Nationals in 2017. Injuries were the only thing holding him back. Health may be a question again, but Harper played back-to-back full seasons before 2017. In any case, the youngster will be in his seventh big league season already after producing a .285/.386/.515 slash line to this point. He has as much talent as anyone in the game and is one of the highest upside picks at Dober Games. Just look at his 198 OPS+ in 2015 to see just how good he can be.
2017: Harper was on track to be a top MVP candidate in 2017 before injuries forced him to miss 51 games. Despite the limited at-bats, he still hit 29 home runs and drove in 87 runs. He ended with a .319/.413/.595 slash line reminiscent of his 2015 MVP campaign. Harper was part of a dominant Washington lineup that provided him plenty of support, something that was lacking at times in a down season in 2016. Regardless of the reason, Harper performed well when he was on the field while also contributing strong defense in right field. His speed took a hit after 21 steals in 2016, but his legs were a concern throughout the year.
